**4 shattered stars **
This was my first Colleen Hoover book. People were raving about it constantly and I was really curious what the hype was about. I was completely unprepared, I had no idea I would feel so many emotions while reading.
The story began dramatic; Sydney's world is shattered after discovering an affair between her boyfriend Hunter and friend Tori, and to make it even more traumatic, she discovered it at the day of her 22nd birthday. Way to get your birthday ruined completely! Disaster just got a new name.
Her mysterious neighbour whom she had loved to listen playing on guitar, offered her a room at his apartment in exchange to help him write lyrics to his songs. It sounded like a great deal, a win-win situation, but they didn't expect love would complicate everything.
It wasn't a typical boy meets girl, boy falls in loves in girl story, because he still loved another girl. And that was the biggest problem. I think Colleen did a great job portraying Ridge's and Sydney’s inner conflicts. They tried to stay away from each other, fight their emotions and prevent falling in love, but failed miserably.
„There isn’t a doubt in my mind that we could be perfect for each other’s life, Sydney. It’s our lives that aren’t perfect for us. “
„It shouldn’t be possible for the heart to love more than one person at once. “
You can't command to heart.
“Nothing in my life has ever felt so good yet hurt so achingly bad.”
My poor heart was broken in million pieces. The story was really intense and I loved the humor even in the most difficult situations. So I was crying and laughing at the same time while waiting for Sydney's and Ridge's maybe someday.
I think I'm beginning to understand why Colleen Hoover is popular. This was an exceptional read; I don't want to talk a lot about it, because I don't want to spoil it for the readers.
That unexpected twist in the plot made me gasp, I couldn't believe it was possible to feel more emotions, but I was wrong.
However, the ending was a bit too fast for me and, I don't know, it was too romantic it wasn't even romantic at all, if you get what I'm saying. That's why I rated it four stars.
Maybe Someday is a must-read for all romance and music lovers, but prepare yourself, you'll probably get very emotional and set your love standards very high. Yes, those kinds of boyfriends are going to ruin us for other men. Proceed with caution.
