Good day dear readers.
Easter is around the corner so that means the dreaded spring cleaning and business at the church :/
Anyways, I’ve been a participant in LGBT Month hosted by Laura at Laura Plus Books and Cayce at Fighting Dreamer, and was really looking forward to review a few favorites of mine and support the cause.
Since my schedule is jam packed and doesn’t allow me to read anything, I've come up with a better idea. Yaoi!
Yaoi, also known as Japanese boyxboy manga caters toward young females as the ultimate bishie (pretty boy) fantasy.
So with the young adult theme in mind here are my top 5 yaoi manga with protagonist still in high school!
1.Rutta To Kodama by Fujitani Youko
Rutta changed from a delinquent to a nice guy because of his new roommate, Miyagi Kodama. Kodama was unsure of his own feelings after Ruttaâ’s confession. After seeing Ruttaâ’s injuries caused from excessive fighting, Kodama finally decided to face the truth and accepted
him.
THOUGHTS:This manga is soo cute! It spans throughout their high school years and we really get to see them grow. There are some great themes covered during the span of the manga, not everything is sunshine and flowers but there is no excessive drama either. A nice slice of life manga.
2. Kirai ja Nai kedo by Sakuraga Mei
2. Kirai ja Nai kedo by Sakuraga Mei
Yukimura is the formidable VP of the student body. However, he has a past which he doesn't want to be discovered. The only person who knows about his secret is his childhood friend, Shinonome, the number-one problem student in the school! How far would Yukimura go to silence Shinonome!?
THOUGHTS:How to force your childhood friend to notice you? Blackmail him, of course!
One of the more amusing manga I've read and loved, the art is gorgeous and the characters cute. It was amusing watching Yukimira as he falls in love!
There are several sequels of the story all great!
3.Koi Cha no Osahou by SAKURAGI Yaya
Poor Tokumaru Madoka is just a regular energetic guy that can't seem to go even five minutes without breaking something. One day his hapless sister has had enough, and she forces him to join their high school’s Tea Ceremony Club, hoping to instill a little discipline in her hopeless klutz of a brother. Tea Ceremony Club president Hasune Kazuma is Tokumaru’s complete opposite. The tall, dark president is the pinnacle of restraint, having been taught from a young age how to uphold his family’s traditions. The sophisticated president and his awkward pupil conceal a brewing attraction, but they can’t avoid steaming each other up. But even full to the brim with passion, will the two of them be able to bridge their differences and get along with each other?THOUGHTS:Practicing martial art in your sisters room is never a good idea, especially not when you break her things in the process.
But what happens when said sister takas matters in her own hands, and sings you up for tea ceremony?Trouble ensues and one of the sweetest kind!
Tokumaru and Hasune are hilarious. The manga is fairly long so it's a treat watching them struggle with each other (and they do struggle) being polar opposites. Tokumaru an energetic, sporty guy and Hasune, the calm, composed, elegant guy. It's one of those mangas that you can read over and over again and never get tired of it.
4.Hidoku Shinaide by Nekota Yonezou
“In exchange for me keeping your secret, take off your pants.” Maya saw Nemugasa’s sudden impulse to cheat (like on a test). In return for keeping silent, Maya makes various demands, but… The bookworm Nemugasa and the playboy Maya’s perversions, impatience, and pure-hearted love.THOUGHTS:Nekota Younezu stories are very emotional, one second you're happy and in the next you want to strangle the main character only to dissolve into a sobbing mess and back to exhilaratingly giddy.
This is one of those manga.
Hidoku Shinaide beings very bad (there is forcing ) along with an oblivious (smart) romantic interest. But then you sorta fall in love with the characters and you're hopelessly hoked! Plus the art is mazing!
5.Katekyo! by Moegi Yuu
Rintarou is bothered by the throbbing of his heart caused by his tutor, Kaede for unknown reasons. One day, Rintarou finds out that he's actually in love with Kaede when he was receiving H punishment! But, without knowing Kaede's feelings, Rintarou became anxious and--?! Little sadistic home tutor x natural high school student's after class love.THOUGHTS:This one is a tad different not only because its entering into the "new adult" range, but where the sexy, rich, popular guy is in love with the oblivious one.
and Rintarou is as oblivious and clumsy as they come. But not in that Bella Swan kind of way, he's more adorable doing it *hehe*Kaede's "Rintarou observation diary" is the most hilarious thing ever. It a fun no drama manga that can be reread anytime
These are my ultimate "young adult" yaoi manga. Five sweet stories of young love, decisions, coming of age and the future.
I apologize for the poor formatting, blogger is behaving like a spoiled child refusing to sit down.
Rutta To Kodama! I loved that manga <3

It's tough to find yaoi that's not just pure adult so this is a good list I will have to check out! I read manga a lot but never know where to start with the LGBT genres because sometimes they can really be a little too, how to word this... risqué? Yeah :p Too much of that and little plot. Great list!
