When physics grad student Fielding Monroe and skirt-chaser and football player Mick Colman become college housemates, they’re both in for a whole new education. Mick looks out for the absent-minded genius, and he helps Fielding clean up his appearance and discover all the silly pleasures his strict upbringing as a child prodigy denied him. They become best friends.

It’s all well and good until they run into a cheerleader who calls Mick the ‘best kisser on campus.’ Fielding has never been kissed, and he decides Mick and only Mick can teach him how it’s done. After all, the physics department’s Christmas party is coming up with its dreaded mistletoe. Fielding wants to impress his peers and look cool for once in his life. The thing about Fielding is, once he locks onto an idea, it’s almost impossible to get him to change his mind. And he just doesn't understand why his straight best friend would have a problem providing a little demonstration.

Mick knows kissing is a dangerous game. If he gives in, it would take a miracle for the thing not to turn into a disaster. Then again, if the kissing lessons get out of hand they can always blame it on the mistletoe.

Mick Coleman, handsome football player who is sick of his Casanova status and the perks that came with it, just wants to devote himself to studying a and his major.
Finally finding a place to stay of campus he needs a house mate in order to split the rent with.
Enter Fielding Monroe, genius extraordinaire adorably clueless and relentlessly curious.
Add a Star Wars movie marathon and you have two best friends.
Mick is smitten and in few short months ends up virtually taking care of him. From polishing up his appearance to getting him to eat healthier.
Fast forward to now:
Mick couldn't even predict that he opened a can of Worms when Fielding overhears a girl proclaiming that he is "the best kisser on campus" by the cheerleader squad.
The look in Fielding's eyes all but assures him that he found a new experiment. And it's fact when Fielding demands to be taught the art of kissing.
Mick is in a tough spot. Kissing the virginal  Fielding is a different thing altogether.
 Whats a man to-do?
Simply give in and open something he's not willing to face, or decline and run the hell away.
 Fielding is not to concerned.

I enjoyed hearing Mick's toughs. His anguish seemed realistic. And his childlike antics in trying to push Fielding away where something i thought a young (straight?) guy might do.

If Spencer Reid and Temperance Brennan had a child it would be Fielding. He was all sorts adorable, genius and when it comes to outside world clueless. His mother didn't allow him to watch TV (enough said)
But that doesn't deter him from finding out whats he's been missing out and Mick might just show him everything there is, including learning how to kiss.
The Way Fielding was following Mick around and loudly proclaiming that he needs to learn how to kiss from him was amusing.

The ending was cozy. Mick coming to terms with himself, family reactions, Fielding, kiss under the mistletoe.
The thing that kinda ruined it for me was the epilogue and the fact that we where thrown in the story with little information as to how they met.
Wish there was more of the back story.
The sex was a steamy goodness.

Overall though, Blame It On The Mistletoe is a sweet and pretty hot read. (wink, wink)

Happy Holiday's!

  2. I'm not exactly sure if I would like this, but I love your "Spencer Reid and Temperance Brennan's chid" analogy :P I'm a die hard fan for both Criminal Minds and Bones. Glad you had a good time with it!
