QUESTION OF THE WEEK!
Bookselling Time: Go to your biggest bookcases. Go to the second shelf from the top and pick out the sixth book from the left. Hardsell that book to us – even if you haven’t read it or if you hated it. (if you don’t have bookcases, don’t have six books on one shelf, etc, pick a book at random)
My book choice: After Dark by Haruki Murakami
A short, sleek novel of encounters set in Tokyo during the witching hours between midnight and dawn.Where time moves in its own special way
Story centers around two girls, Eri, a model, modern day Sleeping Beauty and Mari her sister and student set out to spend the whole night in the city. Its a wonderful impressionistic picture of the night and the human psyche The plot flows easily and it's not difficult to follow at all.
If you never read anything by Murakami i suggest this as a first one.
You wont be disappointed!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI love Murakami's books. I've read South of the Border, West of the Sun and Kafka on the Shore and I completely fell in love with Murakami's writing. Great book choice!

Thanks For Visiting
I've read this yeas and years ago and I maybe stupid but I didn't understand it. I think there's a lot of symbolism used in it, right?
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and I just added you to GR.

I don't think its a matter of smart or stupid. For some books you just have to have the right mindset. I've tried reading Bulgakov's "The Master and Margarita" three times and i still don't get it. I think when i get older somehow it will click.
DeleteThanks for vising
